Cherry Blossom

I rather like today's prompt, it's about making up a silly phrase and attaching some kind of hidden meaning to it, and then magic-up a poem. So that's what I did. My silly phrase is the first line of the poem; "The cherry blossoms are pickled at midnight."

Cherry Blossom

The cherry blossoms are pickled at midnight.
The pickler has to stay up at all hours.
A day in the orchard,
A night by the barrel,
but it'll all be done by midnight.

He cannot wait,
but he knows he must
until the blossoms are ready
to dive.
The barrel is prepped,
the brine is prepared
and all the seasoning is ready.
All that remains are the flowers--
